Amy and Glen Hoppe are licensed special education teachers. We have two children, daughter Emily and son Gavyn. Daphne, Liam, and Sophie round out our family. We enjoy gardening, reading, fishing, and of course, cats!! We chose our name, Skye Blue, for Minnesota, the "land of sky blue waters".
Amy learned of her allergy to cats several years ago. This was not welcome news, as she has been an ailurophile since birth. We were thrilled to learn of the Siberian cat! We adopted Daphne and fell head over heels - Amy has no allergic reactions to her, she is friendly, playful, intelligent, and gentle. We started our cattery with the goal of breeding healthy, low-allergen Siberian cats to bring joy to other families who love cats but have feline allergies.
We carefully researched the Siberian breed, and chose our foundation cats from healthy lines with no known incidence of hereditary diseases like HCM or PKD. Our cats receive regular veterinary care, and are tested for FIV and FeLV. Our kitties are family members. We do not cage our cats, including our male - we are fortunate that Liam does not spray. They have free access to our home, our laps, and pretty much every cat-safe at-home activity. Cat toys are part of our home decor! Our cats are well-loved, healthy, and happy.
